Garden Collage Greeting Card

A Giant Swallowtail Butterfly is the star of this collage of flowers from the Monet and water gardens at the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. The watermark doesn't appear on the printed card.
As two artist friends painted plein aire in early June, I roamed around the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens with my camera. I’d put down my pencils, because I couldn’t sit still long enough to draw anything. There was too much to see. I was lucky to spot a Giant Swallowtail butterfly flit through. It settled for a moment on a flower stalk, long enough for me to take its portrait.
